Recap episode of That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime streams Saturday, with first new episode premiering April 5
Crunchyroll revealed on Thursday that it will stream the third season of ‘That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime’ (Tensei Shitara Slime Datta Ken) anime for the spring 2024 season. The season kicks off with a recap episode on Saturday, followed by the first new episode premiering on April 5.
The season premieres April 5 at 11:00 p.m. (10:00 a.m. EDT) on NTV and 29 affiliates during ‘Friday Anime Night.’ It begins on BS11 on April 6 at 10:00 p.m. NTV airs two compilation specials of the first two seasons on April 3 and 4 with newly recorded narration
The anime’s 48.5 episode will air a week prior to the season premiere on Saturday. It will recap the Demon Lords’ Banquet (Walpurgis) with commentary by Diablo and Veldora.
The show will run continuously for two cours (a quarter of a year) for a total of half a year
Atsushi Nakayama directs, Toshizo Nemoto supervises scripts, Ryōma Ebata designs characters, and Hitoshi Fujima composes music.
The first TV anime adaptation of Taiki Kawakami’s manga premiered in October 2018. It was based on Fuse and Mitz Vah’s light novel series. Crunchyroll streamed the anime, and FUNimation Entertainment streamed an English dub.
The second television anime season premiered its first cours (quarter of a year) in January 2021. The television anime of Shiba’s spinoff manga The Slime Diaries: That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime (Tensura Nikki Tensei Shitara Slime Datta Ken) then premiered on Tokyo MX in April 2021. After The Slime Diaries ended, the second cours of the second season began in July 2021 — for nine straight months of television anime from the franchise in 2021.
The That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime: Scarlet Bond film premiered in Japan in November 2022.
Additionally, the three-episode That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime: Coleus’ Dream anime debuted in Japan on November 1, with Crunchyroll streaming both subtitled and English dubbed versions.
