The IDOLM@STER Shiny Colors 2nd season to play as 3 films starting in July before fall TV debut
The official website for The IDOLM@STER Shiny Colors 2nd Season anime released a theatrical trailer on Friday.
Before its fall TV premiere, the second season will screen in Japan as three films. The first runs from July 5 to July 25, the second from August 23 to September 12, and the third from September 20 to October 10. The TV version will have 12 episodes.
The first season of The IDOLM@STER Shiny Colors anime premiered on April 5. It also screened as three films in Japanese theaters. The first film ran from October 27 to November 16, earning 40,284,350 yen (about US$268,100) in its opening weekend.
The second film opened in Japan on November 24 and ran until December 14, while the third film ran from January 5 to January 25. The films were shown in 75 theaters across 47 prefectures in Japan
Mankyū directs the anime at Polygon Pictures, with Yoichi Kato supervising and writing the scripts. The opening theme song is 'Tsubasa Gravity'.
Bandai Namco Entertainment's The IDOLM@STER Shiny Colors browser game launched in April 2018. Players train idols and compete in live concert performances online, with in-game purchases available. The project also includes concert events, goods, CDs, and radio programs.
